Strata

Working with the City of Mesa, Adaptive Architects, and video artist Adrian Yu (Excetera Agency), I public art centerpiece at the cities new city hall. Steel archways with embedded curved LED walls driven by real-time video art. Strata transformed Mesa's Climate Action Plan into a spatial cinematic sculpture, where live environmental data shaped evolving, site-specific visuals. Inspired by the geological time spiral and elemental erosion of desert landforms, three twisting archways responded to wind speeds, water catchment, tree planting, weather, and climate — shifting from an oasis by day to a particle cloud by night, echoing the rhythm of planetary time.

The piece functions as a civic interface — celebrating Mesa's sustainability efforts while keeping climate action visible and tangible to constituents at city hall.
